Homecoming at K U empties the campus
The Kansas University homecoming emptied the campus as students and alumni departed after the game. About 11,000 attended, far below the 36,000 predicted, yet they enjoyed four touchdowns and a festive atmosphere. A light crowd of alumni moved on while houses closed en masse as a “gentle hint” to departing Greeks. Governor Alf Landon briefly greeted a visiting Phi Gam from Illinois, then resumed duties. An initiation mishap at the quarry left Jim Brazil injured, and Leonard Walsh of George Washington University scouted the Jayhawks for the Colonials.
