In Los Angeles youth singer Ricky Nelson 17 son of Ozzie and Harriet Nelson wins court approval for a four two year recording contract with Imperial Records. Superior Court Judge Clyde C Triplett grants permission and Ricky will receive five percent royalties on records he makes for the Hollywood firm.
