Mrs. Marks Honored With Genteel Lawrence Parties
Mrs. Arthur Marks and Mrs. Norvin H. Gibbons, former Lawrence residents, were feted at several mid summer gatherings. Nell Morris and Grace Poff hosted a luncheon and matinee at the Mary Louise Tea Room, with eleven other ladies attending. A second party, hosted by Mrs. Alex Marks and Mrs. George Shaw at the Ambassador Hotel, featured an auction bridge luncheon for twenty eight guests and prizes. Additional plans include a bridge luncheon in the Mary Louise Tea Room. Guests included Mrs. Will Smith, Mrs. Nettie Reid, Mrs. Kate Kearns of Fort Scott, and many other Lawrence connections.
