About 40 radicals from SDS and allied groups met at the Wesley Foundation in Lawrence to discuss a yearlong student coalition. Wild Chase Lands 12 Misdeameanor Charges for Suspect
Russell Thompson, 22, of 1004 N.J. St., remains in Douglas County jail after a chase that began at the Santa Fe depot in Lawrence and ended near U.S. 24-40. He faces six Lawrence city charges and six Douglas County counts including speeding, failing to yield, no license, disobeying signals, and reckless driving. A 16-year-old juvenile fled the scene with him. the youth was treated for a hand cut and released to a parent.

Calvin Edmund Bernard of Englewood and David Hamelton Harper of Denver were arrested on marijuana possession charges and held on 1500 bond in Douglas County.
