Lost city of Etzanoa uncovered in Kansas digs
Kansas digs at Arkansas City aim to reveal Etzanoa a massive Native American city said to have housed up to 20000 people between 1450 and 1700 Archaeologist Donald Blakeslee and Kansas State Archaeologist Robert Hoard weigh evidence including Spanish artifacts and cannon balls suggesting urban trade networks reaching as far as Tenochtitlan The find could rewrite Great Plains history and place Kansas at the center of early urban development rather than exclusively nomadic life.
