Douglas County backs quarter-cent tax for mental health campus
The Douglas County Commission chose a quarter-cent sales tax to fund a 20000 square foot crisis center with sobering units, housing, and new services. If approved in November it would raise about 4.9 million annually, less than the 9.8 million hoped in Proposition 1 which failed in May. Justice Matters supported the quarter-cent option, arguing it avoids jail funding.

The chase ends with the man trapped in a mud hole and jailed amid a cheering crowd. Also notes Dr Cutter from Massachusetts visiting Ottawa praising Lawrence and state improvements. A badge is lost by Hoyt, and a housing request advertises a four to six room house rental.
