De Soto Man Dies After Highway Brawl
James Henry Glenn 64, a bachelor east of De Soto, died from injuries after a highway brawl tied to a local day celebration. Three De Soto youths James Kelley 17 Bobby Durrett 16 and Ralph Gordon 17 face charges with Durrett and Kelley charged with first degree murder and Gordon with assault. Preliminary hearings set for August 23. Durrett released on 5000 bond and Gordon on 500. Kelley remains jailed. The fight began after the youths rode a truck Glenn was in and struck him with a board at the east edge of De Soto near Sunflower Village.
