Bennett releases study on Kansas aid to local government
Gov. Bennett publicizes a study showing Kansas already provides substantial support to local units. The report totals 450 million dollars annually with 569 dollars per household potential tax relief if aid vanished. Bennett says candidates should use the data to shape positions on state aid and notes 27 percent of the state budget and 56 percent of tax revenues go to local governments. He stresses not abandoning aid and cites varying city conditions.
