Eudora Man Found Dead in Home In Apparent Suicide
Osgood Beatty Armstrong aged 58 of Route 1 Eudora was found dead Saturday afternoon at his home. Acting Coroner Dr By ron Walters ruled death by own action as the shotgun lay nearby. He had been in ill health the past years. Born June 13 1907 in Lecompton he lived near Eudora seven years. Funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday Rumsey Funeral Home Rev Roy Armstrong officiating. Burial Memorial Park Cemetery. Survivors include wife Clara a brother Theodore Armstrong Lecompton three sisters Mae Carr Nellie Stanwix Dorothy Speicher and several nieces and nephews.

Explosion at Retzloff Chemical Plant Kills Two in Houston
An explosion at the Retzloff Chemical Co plant in east Harris County today killed two people and injured three others. The plant had opened only a few days earlier and employed about five or six workers at the time. The cause of the blast is undetermined.

Man listed in good condition after gunshot wound
Lawrence man 37 is treated at Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a Saturday night shooting in the 500 block of East Eighth Street. Police say S T Gallaway was struck in the lower left side by a .22 slug and had his spleen removed. Darel L Green, 23, admitted firing and sustained a head wound. No arrests reported.

Patient Ill Drowned At Veterans Hospital
James J. Herndon, 43, a patient at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Wadsworth Kansas, drowned on Sunday in Lake Jeanette on the hospital grounds. The Columbia, Missouri man had been admitted in 1963 and leaves his mother Mrs. Laura Hendron of Columbia. The body was sent to Parker Funeral Home in Columbia.

Father and Son Die After Quarrel in Stamford
In Stamford Connecticut Henry C Fisher Sr 40 and his son Henry C Fisher Jr 16 died after a Sunday night quarrel over cutting the lawn. Police arrived to find both had collapsed from apparent heart attacks. Det Capt Robert Hunt noted both had cardiac conditions with the son first to collapse. The father attempted mouth to mouth resuscitation before dying.

Jet Crashes Near St Louis Hurts Home In Flight
A National Guard F100 trainer crashed near St Louis on Sunday wounding no one seriously. Pilot 1st Lt Frederick Moore parachuted to safety and landed in a tree with only scratches. A jet wing damaged the living room of Mrs. Robert Crouder in Bridgeton. she was hospitalized for shock. Capt Herbert Dameron witnessed the incident and said the jet was at about 1000 feet when the engine quit.
