Runaway Truck Bursts Through Bonner House
A runaway truck crashed into the Clifford M. Gallagher home west of Bonner Springs Kansas injuring Mrs. Gallagher who suffered a spinal fracture and facial cuts. The driver Gary Lawrence 20 of Bonner Springs said the steering wheel came off and he jumped clear after buying the truck earlier that day. The truck slammed through the family room as Mrs. Gallagher rested on a couch and her husband grabbed their 10 year old daughter Debe Jane and fled.

Sinatra Yacht Crewman Drowned Near Martha’s Vineyard
A crew member on Frank Sinatra’s chartered yacht Southern Breeze is presumed drowned after a dinghy overturned half a mile off Martha’s Vineyard. Robert Goldfarb, 23, of New Rochelle, N.Y., is identified as missing while another crewman and two girls were rescued after more than an hour in the water. City crime and traffic injuries rise say police chief
City crime also are up, Troelstrup said. Through July, 260 persons suffered traffic injuries of various types. Last year, for the same period, the number was 196, and in 1963 it was 190. Our two most important functions at this time are crime prevention and decreasing the number of traffic accidents. Both are cooperative, which means we have to have complete support from the public in order to do a good job. Troelstrup said that parking violations this year are down 11.8 per cent from the previous year, with 27,531 this year against 31,213 for 1964 and 28 260 from 1963. Parking violations also include overtime parking in the metered stalls.

SEARCY Ark AP The Air Force calls the Titan II missile complex a nearly invulnerable underground city. The bird costs 2.6 million and the nest raises total complex cost to about 8 million. The 150 ton missile travels 6000 miles at 18000 mph with a 24 megaton warhead. There are 54 sites in the U S 18 near Little Rock 18 near Tucson and 18 near Wichita all completed December 1963 at over 400 million total cost and all operational.

Man Injured at Perry Taken to Topeka
Robert Payne, 19, was injured at a N. R. Hamm Rock Quarry near Perry when equipment overturned. He was reported in fair condition at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka after initial treatment at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. The family of Earl Hill thanks friends for support after his death.
