Paris Aug 8 Soviet Foreign Minister Molotov challenged the voting rules adopted by the conference rules committee and accused Australia’s Evatt of trying to create opinion against the USSR. He reopened the voting issue in plenary, claiming Britain and the United States had repudiated foreign ministers council decisions while Evatt denounced Molotov’s tactics as filibustering. Evatt defended the small nations cause and charged Molotov with pressing a veto before the peace conference. The session, after ten days, has yet to address draft treaties for Italy Romania Hungary Bulgaria and Finland.
