Banks Show An Increase In Deposits Over 1938
Topeka August 4 State and private banks and trust companies reduced from 503 to 498 in the past year but deposits rose by more than five million dollars on June 30 from a year earlier. Total deposits reached 159,359,243 with total resources at 187,041,242. Loans and discounts fell to 80,000,973 while premises and real estate owned dropped by 520,855 and 200,000 respectively.
