Sinclair Oil seeks permit for Seventh and Vermont service station
Lawrence city records show Sinclair Oil representatives requesting a permit to build a new service station on the southeast corner of Seventh and Vermont, planning to tear down part of the Monk livery stable and place the station at an angle similar to the one at Tenth and Massachusetts streets. The former Gibson mill break in and theft were also reported, with $100 in currency and about $100 in checks stolen from the office safe.
