New Trial Sought for William Zimmer in Kidnaping Case
In Topeka AP. Attorneys argued over two hours for a new trial for William F. Zimmer who is under death sentence for kidnapping 7 year old Gladys Johnson from a Topeka street corner on November 14. Judge Marion Beatty planned to rule Monday. Zimmer also holds a life sentence for a murder conviction in the same case. The girl’s body was found by hunters near St. Marys Kane days after she disappeared.

Lovers’ deaths in Sayreville ruled suicide pact
The charred bodies of 18 year old John Conners and 16 year old Virginia Zubrick were found in a secluded Sayreville meadow. Authorities said evidence indicates a lovers death by own action with Conners’ wallet beneath his head and a burned matchbook on his chest.
