North Vietnam bridges hit by US air strikes
About 200 U.S. Air Force and Navy planes destroyed six bridges and a river ferry in North Vietnam in the day’s operation. Four Americans were killed on the ground and another death announced. Vietnamese forces reported a major position and the Gianh River ferry destroyed. several bridges suffered heavy damage and ground fire was light with no enemy aircraft spotted.
