Mexican youth held on first degree murder charge
Jesse Granada, a Wichita Mexican youth, was arraigned in Newton Kansas on a complaint charging first degree murder in the death of 18 year old Lucille Price. He was remanded to jail after failing to post 25,000 bond and a preliminary hearing was set for April 22. Authorities say they believe sufficient evidence exists to convict and note Granada admitted being drunk the night Price disappeared. Price’s body was found along a secluded road ditch southeast of Newton about two months ago.

Pastor Takes Own Life After Embezzlement Charges
Rev W H Gant pastor of three Baptist churches near Chattanooga Tennessee faced embezzlement charges and committed suicide by poison on Lookout Mountain today. A $100 embezzlement warrant had been issued this week and he failed to appear for trial. His body was found at a lonely spot with an empty vial nearby.

Local couple held up by bandit on Massachusetts Street
