A 19 year old Leavenworth man was sentenced to five years on probation for his role in a 2011 burglary of Winchester Gun and Rock Shop in Jefferson County. Andrew Amundsen admitted helping disable a security alarm, enter the shop, and steal 15 firearms later sold for cash and electronics in Leavenworth County.

Two Hurt After U S 24 Wreck Involving Semi Northwest Of Lawrence
Two people suffered life threatening injuries in a crash on U S 24 near Perry as a pickup collided with a semitrailer. Driver Gary Koelliker 19 and passenger Dylan Butrick 20 were ejected. both were hospitalized with serious injuries. The semi driver John Douglas 39 was uninjured. Traffic was halted about 1:45 am and reopened around 8 am. The investigation continued Friday morning.
