Regents get update on NBAF budget battle
Kansas Board of Regents reviewed the empty 46 acre NBAF site near Kansas State University amid a funding stalemate in Washington. The 650 million National Bio and Agro Defense Facility aims to replace Plum Island lab with a 600000 square foot facility by 2018 to study diseases threatening food supply and public health including Nipah Hendra African swine fever and foot and mouth disease.
