Mondale warns of unprecedented energy crisis risk in US
Vice President Mondale warned at Beverly Hills that the nation faces a predicament unseen in history unless steps are taken to avert another energy crisis. He argued oil imports and potential embargoes could trigger drastic government limits on work hours driving fuel use and household lighting. He praised Congress for pushing the Department of Energy and criticized the Carter administration on energy policy. Ralph Nader joined in noting the crisis is about monopoly power, not supply, and urged stronger solar energy representation.
