New Motel Office Rules Adopted By Convention Authority
The Las Vegas Convention Authority will run the motel reservations office with Walt Schull named Advertising and Promotion Manager. A daily complaints report will be filed, access limited to staff and the Authority, and stricter rules placed on advertising and price gimmicks. An eight year old boy was beaten with a belt by his father Norman K. Haga of 3909 Alou. The child was taken to Child Haven with extensive welts bruises and cuts. Haga was booked at the city jail on child beating with bail set at 1500 dollars.

Sentencing Set For Hotel Man Norbert Jansen
Norbert W. Jansen owner of the New Pioneer Hotel pleaded guilty to one of six counts of income tax evasion in federal court in Los Angeles. He and Wendall Tingley manager of the Pioneer Hotel and casino were indicted last March. Jansen faces Sept 23 sentencing for evading taxes totaling 138 468 for the Southgate Loan Company and 54 447 in personal income taxes from 1961 to 1964.
