Clark county labor unions, at the request of State Labor Commissioner James Fitzgerald, set the wage scale for all public projects locally. The meeting followed Assembly Bill No. 36 requiring prevailing wage rates on contracts by state and local entities. A committee including Mayor Arnett and County Commissioner George Hanson was appointed to implement the new scale.
Las Vegas prepares to entertain the Grand Lodge of Masons of Nevada at the new Masonic Temple on Third street. Knights Templar tour Lake Mead, Royal Arch Masons meet, and Boulder Dam and Lake Mead tours are planned for June with Vegas Lodge 32 organizing hospitality.
Las Vegas Rotary Club hosts a rodeo entertainment meeting featuring Tex Ritter Ed Finney Lindsey Parsons and Pinkey Gist. Grammar school pupils under Miss Chappe present Last Day of School Forty Years Ago with local adults assisting.

A premier rodeo in Nevada draws the west’s finest riders, horses, and calves for Las Vegas Helldorado events. The show opens Friday with semi finals on Saturday and finals on Sunday, as grandstand sales reflect strong public interest in premier western entertainment.
Helldorado Village at Fremont and Sixth streets bursts into celebration with thousands of children and adults enjoying rides, concessions, and a big tent show. Parades, rodeo events, bathing beauty contests, and nightly entertainment fill the weekend schedule as crowds revel in the Las Vegas spectacle.
Cedar City Rotary Club invites Las Vegas Rotarians and ladies to honor its twelfth anniversary at Hotel Escalante Cedar City on Saturday evening May 22 1937. A large Las Vegas delegation is likely to attend.
