Ephrata Beef Wins Big At Ephrata Fair Show
Two girls and two angus seers left the ring with both rosettes at the Ephrata Fair beef show. Nancy Louise Rohrer of Lititz won grand championship with a 1000 pound Chester County bred angus steer bred by Morris Hitt. Irene Bollinger of Denver earned reserve with a club project steer bred by Millarden Farms. Judges noted county 4-H roots as common among competitors.

Lee Stauffer a 14 year old sophomore from Donegal High School drove his 1000 pound Hereford Buster to win the Lampeter beef show. Elvin Hess Bareville won reserve with an Angus. Stauffer's steer was fed at Fenwick Farms Maryland after purchase. Several Donegal FFA members competed and captured multiple top Hereford ribbons while Kenneth Hess Strasburg won showmanship and Mary Jane Herr Refton was runner up.

Rob ert Kauffman Manhem Ri led the Holstein judging with a senior aged cow while Marilyn Harnish Quarryvile R2 captured Ayrshire rib bons and Rohrer Witmer Willow Street R2 showed senior and Grand champions in Guernsey. Phyllis Landis won all Jersey rib bons. Glenn Musser led Holstein junior yearling to the junior title as judge Harry Mumma officiated.

Feed Millers Elect Graybill President at Hershey Meeting
Robert B Graybill of Miller and Bushong Inc Rohrerstown was elected president of the Pennsylvania Millers and Feed Dealers Association at the annual Hotel Hershey gathering. He will take office January 1 1962 after serving as first vice president. Directors Wilbur Friestand and Paul Grubb will continue for another year as the organization’s board. Lancaster County dealers attended the election.
