Solanco Fair Season Opens Next Week with Exhibits
The Solanco community fair schedule starts September 20 to 22 with exhibits in Lampeter and nearby towns. Lampeter’s show opens September for a three day run, followed by four days in Manheim Farm W starting the same week. Some towns like Kutz Mount Joy and Elizabethtown sit out this year. The event features a 4 H horse show at Ludwig corners and a county chicken barbecue sponsored by the Farm Women’s Society. The Solanco street parade shifts to the last day of the exposition.

ASC Reelects Leaders Plans Educational Meetings
Landis G. Becker was reelected Lancaster County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation committee chairman at a Sept 1962 reorganizational meeting at 119 N. Queen Street. Fred Seldomridge and Elmer Huber were reelected as vice chairman and regular member, with John J. Herr Joy and Frank W. Aument elected as alternates. Terms start Oct 1. Two educational meetings on barley and wheat programs were announced for Sept 18 at New Providence elementary school and Sept 21 at Brun.

Corn Field Day At Research Farm Near Landisville
Commercial seed growers and farmers are invited to a corn field day on September 21 at the Southeastern Field Research Laboratory near Landisville. The program starts at 1 15 and features field corn hybrids resistant to leaf blight and experimental hybrids with multiple ears. No Surplus Of Soft Wheat Says National Committee
