Quarantines On Gypsy Moth To Be Changed
Harrisburg plans adjust gypsy moth quarantines in four Northeastern counties and lift bans in three others. Effective Sept 10, 24 townships in Wayne Pike and Monroe will be freed after May spray, while Sept 20 areas in Luzerne, Carbon, Monroe and Lackawanna face new restrictions. About 500000 acres including Hazleton and several Luzerne and Carbon towns become quarantined due to an unusual July infestation near White Haven.
