All-American Dairy Show to Feature Dairy Princess Pageant
The Tenth Annual Pennsylvania All-American Dairy Show at the Farm Show September 24 to 28 includes a Dairy Princess pageant with 33 contestants, a record turnout from county titles. The event adds Brown Swiss as Eastern National show and continues invitational breed sales plus railbird judging and Family Day for non-farm visitors.

The NEPPCO Market Egg Show closed with 175 entries from ten states, surpassing the 163-entry 1971 event. Pennsylvania leads with 82 entries, Maine 39, others from Connecticut Delaware Maryland New Hampshire New Jersey New York Ohio and West Virginia.

Dairy judging contest draws state 4 H FFA teams and intercollegiate entrants
The Invitational Youth Dairy Cattle Judging Contest features state champion 4 H and FFA teams with an intercollegiate division including about 15 colleges. District and regional 4 H and FFA dairy show winners will also display prize stock at the Pennsylvania Junior Daily Show. Regular registration closed August 24 but late entries with an extra fee are accepted through September 5.
Farmers Share Rises to 44 Cents in Q2 1973
USDA report shows farmers received 44 cents of each retail dollar in market basket foods during the second quarter of 1973, unchanged from Q1 but up five cents from a year earlier. The June share was 45 cents, the highest since 1953.
