Buyers offered 30 cents a pound for wrappers and 20 cents for fillers with 25 cents through First reports. A farmer rejected 30 20 hoping for 35 cents. A field buyer called it a market test to gauge farmer response amid good growing and curing seasons. Buying continuation depended on farmer sales, page 12.
Dr Paul E Hand, economist for Inter-State Milk Producers Co-operative Hamad, told 180 members at the District Six meeting that Class I milk use remains around 80 percent in the Order No 4 area since the market pool began. He estimated the blend price at about $6.00 per hundredweight and projected little change in prices in the near term. He noted recent talks on imitation milk products going on sale in New Jersey this fall, already marketed in California and Arizona, with prices around 37 to 47 cents per half gallon for the imitation and 43 to 53 cents for regular milk.

The Lancaster County Holstein Association will hold its annual banquet and business meeting on November 10 at Hostetter's in Mount Joy. Doors open at 6 45 pm. The York Chorus will provide a featured performance. Tickets are available from any director.
The Lancaster County Poultry Banquet featured a film The Six Day War and Sidney D Troy of Poultry Breeders International Tel Aviv spoke to about 250 attendees. He said Israelis fought to protect families not just land and praised Israel as a model of resourcefulness and unity in irrigation dairy and brain power.
Clair W. Esbenshade of Willow Street received a $50 savings bond as overall winner in the 1966 FFA Sears Swine Program during a Leaders Conference at Red Lion York County. Henry Givler and Gerald Kiger assisted and Ester Esbenshade earned a $25 bond as a local winner.
Blue jacketed FFA members gathered at Red Lion Area High School for the Twenty-Third Annual Area Leadership Training Conference. Clair Esbenshace of Willow Street R2 won Lan caster county and a $50 Sears Foundation savings bond during the evening program.
