4 H Members Eligible For Essay Contest
The 1967 4 H Conservation Essay Contest sponsored by the Lancaster Kiwanis Club was announced by the Lancaster County Extension Office. Any club member may enter by writing 200 to 300 words on soil and water conservation on 84 by 11 paper, including pictures if they show good practices. Prizes are 75 dollars for first, 50 dollars for second, and 25 dollars for third, with essays due at the Extension Office by Tuesday November 14.

Livestock Entries Peek at 1171 Sheep and 13073 Hogs
The Pennsylvania Livestock Exposition at the Farm Show Building next week totals 3882 head across sheep hogs beef cattle and horses. The event includes 350 horses and riders in the Pennsylvania Horse Show November 10 11 with about 50000 in premiums and trophies from breed associations. Sponsored by the state Department of Agriculture Farm Show Commission and Livestock and Allied Industries Association with free admission.

Mr and Mrs Henry Hackman of Manheim R2 spent 17 days in Poland this summer visiting Edmund Apolinar ski, director of a 7 500 acre government farm 40 miles south of Poznan. The couple shared slides and stories of their six week journey to communist countries at church and civic meetings.
