Green Dragon Dairy Show honors grand champion in Ephrata
Alfred Albright of Landisburg showed the grand champion Holstein cow at the Green Dragon Dairy Show and Sale in Ephrata. Donald Whitesel bought the champion for $2,000, and 53 entries competed in four classes with top cows averaging $780.

University Plans Milking School at Penn State
A three day Milking School will be held at Pennsylvania State University from November 9 to 11. Extension staff and College of Agriculture faculty will teach topics from milking machine operation to udder anatomy and hygienic practices. The $10 registration covers sessions in Borland Laboratory with hands on practice and expert talks.

Fat hogs and feeder pigs sold Saturday October 16 with barrows Gilts and sows emphasizing price gains. US No 1-2 200-230 lb hogs brought 22.00 to 22.50 per cwt, with lighter weights 16.00 to 17.75 for 160-175 lb. sows 275-430 lb 16.00 to 17.50. boars 13.50 to 14.60 per cwt.
