A statewide Poultry Business Management Seminar will be held at the Farm and Home Center on Thursday October 21 from 8 30 a m to 4 15 p m. Jay W Irwin Lancaster County ag agent said the meeting will feature top speakers and up to date management information with a strong turnout expected. The program features Penn State poultry science professors Dr Floyd Hicks Dr Richard Keppler and others discussing labor supply and turnover efficiency equipment substitution job design and computer applications for management with a luncheon and a question answer session. Advance registration is requested by October 19 with a 5 dollar fee including luncheon.

First of 3 Dairy Meetings Set Tuesday Night
The first of three dairy management meetings will be at the Farm and Home Center at 8 p.m. on Tuesday October 19. Donald L. Ace of Penn State dairy Extension will speak on Calf and Cow Management. South Korean official inherits Eisenhower cattle gift
Ki Hyung Yoo, a Korean visitor, received a registered Angus bull and a bred Angus heifer in ceremonies at the Eisenhower Farm near Gettysburg. The bull, renamed AKF Eisenhower, will be bred through co ops in Korea, while the heifer becomes the nucleus of a registered Angus herd at the Sosa Farm in Korea. Yoo plans to study U.S. agriculture through November before returning home.

The Pennsylvania 4-H dairy judging team finished fifth among 33 teams at the 4-H National Dairy Judging Contest in Columbus Ohio. Raelene Harbold from Elizabethtown led individuals with fifth place and second in reasons. teammates Sue Kauffman Ginger Siegrist Shirley Thompson represented Lancaster and York counties in the national event.
