Dairy expert forecasts improved fortunes for eastern farmers
William Johnstone, Penn State agr economicist, told dairymen that milk price gains will raise incomes but caution is needed as past price rises have spurred higher production. He noted three postwar declines in cow numbers and urged action by agencies to market more dairy products. A panel discussed herd replacement management with five specialists and other speakers included Taschner of Dow and Gregory of Miller & Bushong.
