The forecast calls for milder than normal temperatures through the next five days with a cool spell Sunday and Monday then a warming trend by mid week. Expect thunder showers Saturday and rain around mid week totaling about 0.7 inches.
Six Area Holstein Breeders Post Records
Six Lancaster County Holstein breeders reported cows finishing lactations for official records. In Manheim Elam Bollinger's 11 year old cow produced 17 340 pounds of milk and 592 pounds of butterfat in 304 days. Donald L Hershey had three record cows including Connie Hershvale Sovereign with 23 394 pounds of milk and 724 fat in 365 days.
