Milk Referendum Information Aired At Extension Meeting
William L. Roberts of the Atlantic Dairy Association told a Tuesday audience that milk dealers bear no greater duty to sustain farmers than farmers do to sustain cattle dealers and feed companies. Groff Wins FFA Contest at Area Leadership Conference
Wilmer Groff a 16 year old Manheim Central High School FFA student won first place in the area quiz contest at Eastern York County High School Wightsville. He topped contestants from Lancaster York and Dauphin counties answering questions from the FFA Manual and Handbook. Second place went to Daniel Melhorn Eastern High School and third to Dave Hecket Dover High School Both York County schools. About 200 students teachers and guests attended the Twenty fifth Annual Area Leadership Training Conference.
Inter-State Sets Athiual Meet Nov 25‑26
Local dairy farmers members of the Inter-State Milk Producers Cooperative will send delegates to their annual meeting at the Benjamin Franklin Hotel Philadelphia on November 25 and 26. The program features Richard E Lyng US Department of Agriculture Assistant Secretary who will speak on USDA's Team Program. Delegates from 79 locals representing 24 districts will vote on resolutions and new business Tuesday and Wednesday.
