Winterize Your Farm Home and Farm Supplies
Weather stripping and storm windows can cut fuel use by about twelve percent while attic insulation lowers heat loss and reduces summer cooling load. Reserve clover and alfalfa seed before late winter shortages. Red clover from Pennscott outperforms other strains for Lancaster County growers. Early winter is ideal to spray honeysuckle with 2 4 5 T brush killer mixed with fuel oil No 2, avoiding trees and shrubs. Penn State offers winter short courses in agriculture starting January with details from the Extension Service Office.
