Red Banded Leaf Roller Shows Pesticide Resistance
A Cornell University report states the red banded leaf roller, a major New York apple pest, is developing pesticide resistance in some orchards. It took eight times more DDD to kill resistant strains than non resistant ones, with prior DDT use noted in recent years. Resistance patterns in the European red mite and cooling moth are also mentioned by Cornell entomologists.
