Florida Tomato Sizes Proposed by USDA
The USDA proposed new minimum tomato sizes under the Florida marketing order. Effective May 24 to June 30, mature green tomatoes must be at least 2 9/32 inches in diameter and ripe tomatoes at least 2 17/32 inches. The rule aims to stabilize prices as Florida’s marketing period is expected to be busy.
