Six Youths Named to Attend Cooperatives Summer Institute
Six Lancaster County youths were chosen to represent at the Pennsylvania Association of Farmer Cooperatives Summer Institute at Shippensburg State College July 11 to 15. Winners were picked through a coop education program, with alternates named, and Jay W Irwin to accompany the delegation as chaperone.

Layman Named Director of Lancaster County Vo-Tech Program
Ralph M Layman principal of Brownstown Vo-Tech School was named director of vocational education by the Lancaster County Vo-Tech Joint Committee. He will earn $18 000 annually and begin duties soon. Layman will coordinate Brownstown Willow Street and Mount Joy programs and succeeds Henry A Walker who resigned last fall. He is a Penn State trained educator with a long career in vocational agriculture and industrial education. He and his wife Miriam Drumm live in Quarryville with their three children.
