Size of flock not sole driver of egg pickup costs

A Lancaster Farming analysis shows farm pickup costs depend on many factors beyond flock size. Distance to route, cases per stop, loading methods, egg room location, and frequency of pickup all shape costs, with smaller flocks often raising per case expenses unless pickups are adjusted.
