Deadline May 22 For County Dairy Princess Contest
Lancaster County dairy farm daughters face a May 22 deadline to enter the county Dairy Princess pageant to be held June 13 at Host Town Motel Lancaster. Eligible entrants must be 17 to 25, high school graduates, daughters of producers, submit a head and shoulders photo, and compete for a wardrobe prize and other rewards. Carol Hess of Strasburg is this year's princess and former first runner up for 1966 state title.

A York County farmer from Dallastown won the FEA meats judging contest held Tuesday at Kunzler and Co Dean Godfrey scored 496 of 500 to place first among 32 contestants. Runnerup finished with 408.9 points. Godfrey missed a perfect score by one incorrect meat cut.
