Farm Planes Might Tour Europe Asia This Summer
Plans are formed to send 30 United States farm aircraft on a five week goodwill tour of Europe and Asia this summer. About 90 participants would travel aboard a U S aircraft carrier with early stops in Italy Turkey Sweden France and Asiatic lands. Costs run between 500 and 700 dollars per person with a government subsidy nearing 7000 per plane.

Flying Farmer Queen Kimmel Crowned At Butler Farm Show
Florence Kimmel of Rignon Valley is to be crowned Queen of the Pennsylvania Flying Farmers at the Butler Farm Show in August. Her husband Gail, a pilot instructor and state NFFA delegate, operates a 70 acre farm and flies since the 1940s. The Kimmel family includes four children and two daughters active in 4H. Janice soloed at 16, both mother and daughter have received Lycoming plaques and Piper Aircraft awards.
