The Farm Women’s Society viewed a film about a large game preserve 300 miles from Johannesburg. Mrs Richard Warfel spoke of Johannesburg origins, with devotions led by Mrs Elmer Eschenshade. A $5 mental health donation, home products sale, and plans for June 27 open house were noted.
New Holland Society of Farm Women No 24 met at Mrs Arthur Gamber’s home. President Mrs Landis Myer presided, devotions led by Mrs Isaac Wenger. Three new members welcomed. Report on Lancaster County Home visit given. July picnic set for July 31 at New Holland Community Park. Bus trip to Atlantic City on July 17. Mrs Donald Brown executive director notes dressings cost families hundreds if bought. Volunteers sew and pack materials for medical specs at two cents each. White goods donated by locals sustain the Lancaster County unit with 800 plus women meeting in homes yearly.
