The 4-H Daily project remains a key Lanaster County club effort with 26 members in the Ayrshire Jersey Brown Swiss club 24 in the Guernsey club and 99 in the Holstein club. Clubs meet monthly with programs on dairying and youth development. Each member is required to own one or more dairy animal.
The Lancaster County 4-H dairy program outlines upcoming events including the Rough Riders 4H Horse and Fun Show on June 6 at Quarryville Legion park grounds, rescheduled from May 30. It notes demonstrations at club meetings, the Daily Judging Team for the state contest in August, and progression from local show to District and Pennsylvania Junior Dairy Show events in Harrisburg.
Penn Manor FFA notes activity calendar including a June 8 10 am meeting of the Milk Producers Cooperative and a June 9 annual meeting and banquet at Hotel Syracuse. The May 28 awards assembly honors Clifford Charles for a Weaver's Poultry Scholarship runner up. Twenty four FFA members fished Cape May NJ totaling three fish. Chapter Reporter Tim Hess. The Lebanon Valley Poultry Association festival is set for June 12 at Fredericksburg.
Fulton Junior Grange 343 meets at 8 pm on June 14 at Fulton Grange Hall to conduct a paper drive. Mrs Thomas Galbreath will serve as Matron until Mrs Jacob Fantom resumes duties.
