Local farmer yields 70 bushels per acre with first triticale crop
Robert W. Armstrong of Drumore RD1 harvested four acres of triticale, a wheat rye cross, and averaged 70 bushels per acre despite a freeze out. Two acres yielded 85 while the other two fell to 55 on the hillside. The farmer aims for higher future yields and tests feed value and protein content for swine rations.
