Hershey School to Host Penna. Plowing Contest
The Milton Hershey School Farms will host the 1973 State Plowing Contest as part of Agricultural Progress Days set for August 28 to 30 at Hershey. Contests run August 28 for contour and small plow divisions starting 10 a.m and August 29 for large plow. Competitors must win county eliminations to enter state competition. Twenty six plowmen contended at the 1972 Somerset County event under the State Plowing Contest Committee.

Lancaster County Farmers Picnic at Lampeter Fair Grounds
The Lancaster County Farmers Association will host its annual picnic on July 28 at the Lampeter Fair Grounds. Barbecued pork chops will be served from 7 p.m. Reservations are due by July 24 and can be made by contacting Carlton Groff, Box 94, Kirkwood, Pa.

Boots and Saddles 4-H Gymkhana Results
Boots and Saddles 4-H Horse and Pony Club held a gymkhana July 14 at the Columbia Riding Club with 38 members. Jeff Sheffer judged events including grooming shows, horse and pony classes, driving, riding, polo bending, barrel races, walk jog, western pleasure and hunter classes with multiple riders earning second place in many divisions.

Mt. Joy 4-H Photography Club met with eleven members and two visitors from Manheim. Lauren McIntyre and Trudy Nissley demonstrated photography to be shown at District Demonstration Day on July 17. Next meeting set for July 30 at 7 00 p m at Grossbrenner United Methodist Church.
