Improved Artificial Respiration Saves Stillborn Pigs
A USDA scientist Elmer Krehbiel at the Range Livestock Experiment Station Miles City Montana describes a five step artificial respiration method using a polyethylene funnel to revive nonbreathing newborn pigs whose hearts beat. The procedure involves draining fluids, fitting the funnel to mouth and nose, blowing into the funnel, and repeating 15 to 20 times per minute until life signs resume.
