Auction notes show hog receipts of 681 with a market drift 75 cents higher. Prices listed by weight and grade across US classifications from US 1 to US 2-4 and sow and boar categories. Dates include June 19 24 27 28 with barrow gilt price ranges and per pound figures for various weights.
Hog demand remained uneven with 3000 head down 50 to 75 cents and US 1 2 200 230 pound hogs trading around 29.25 to 29.50. About 5500 head sold with mostly 50 cent lower quotes and 200 250 pound weights bringing 29.00 to 29.75 per pound. Barrows Gilts and Sows pricing varied by weight with feeders at 21.25 and boars around 21.35 in a cautious market.
Peoria auction shows slow hog trade with 50 to 75 lower for many weights. Feeder pigs 16.50 to 21.75, sows 17.75 to 21.50. Slaughter steers up to 50 cents higher, some High Choice and Prime up 75 cents. heifers essentially steady to 25 cents higher after earlier gains faded. Four day receipts 22,200. steers 46 percent, heifers 36 percent, cows 7 percent, feeders 9 percent.
Hog receipts at New Holland show market up about one dollar. Retail prices range from 29.50 to 30.00 with wholesale at 29.00 to 29.50, heavyweights 28.75 to 29.75, lightweights 26.00 to 28.50, sows 22.00 to 24.00, and boars 21.00 to 23.00.
