Farm Women Elect Officers At Harrisburg
Newly elected officers of the Society of Farm Women of Pennsylvania include treasurer Mrs Multon Eberly of Lancaster to succeed Mrs Samuel Moyer and director Mrs D L Howard of Hummelstown to succeed Mrs Oren MecCaleb. President is Mrs Charles Shriver of Waynesburg, with first vice president Mrs Mark Herr of Collegeville and second vice president Mrs Fred Erkle of Fayetteville and secretary Mrs Edward Boyd of Stoystown. Seventeen counties participate with over 3000 members.

Homsher Farm Sold for 60100 to Rohrer in Strasburg
Raymond H. Rohrer and R. Lancaster purchased the 135 acre farm of the late John Homsher in Strasburg Two for $60,100. The sale was public by Mrs. Esther B. Homsher. The farm includes a brick dwelling, tenant house, large barn for 75 cows, brick garage and milk house. Auctioneer was Stanley H Deiter.

Robert Welk Named Outstanding FFA Boy of Year
Robert L Welk of Strasburg Lancaster County received a plaque as outstanding FFA boy of the year at the state FFA mid winter meeting in Harrisburg He operates a 75 acre farm helps on an 85 acre family farm and works part time at an implement dealer His senior year farming program includes 1500 broilers 4 dairy calves 4 dairy cows 6 brood sows 20 fattening hogs 10 acres corn hay wheat and barley He was class president FFA president of his chapter and county Keystone Farmer degree recipient in 1954 elected State president last June He showed a Holstein calf that won 6 prize dollars at the 1956 State Farm Show More than 1000 vocational agriculture students attended the Farm Show convention in Harrisburg with Keystone Degrees awarded to 244 FFA boys and honors to business professionals and media outlets The State Band and Chorus performed for the gathering

Famed Lucifer Dies at SEPABC in Pennsylvania
Adorable legend Admiral Lucifer, a famed bull in artificial breeding in the United States, died Tuesday at the Southeastern Pennsylvania Artificial Breeding Cooperative. He had sired 45,190 cows. several of his sons remain in service at SEPABC.
