County to Host Six Livestock Shows This Summer
Lancaster County will host six major livestock events this summer including the Eastern Polled Hereford Association Show and Sale with banquet at Hotel Brunswick on March 25 and 26, the South Central District 4H Dairy Judging Practice on July 17, SPABS Dairy Show on August 9, County 4-H Roundup on August 10, Pennsylvania Guernsey Breeders Show on August 28, and District 4H Dairy Show Guernsey Sale Pavilion on August 29-30. This marks the first Southeastern Dairy Show, Hereford show and sale, and State 4-H Dairy Judging Practice here, with the 4-H Roundup moved up a month. Barn Raising on Landis Martin Farm in Ri Lititz
About 150 Mennonite neighbors moved from Ri Lititz to Landis Martin Farm on Monday to rebuild a barn destroyed by fire. The barn, first built by Jacob Brubaker in 1805, burned in 1897 and again in 1914. an arsonist admitted starting the latest blaze.

In the Lancaster Farm Bureau Co operative annual meeting four incumbent directors were reelected. Board members are Samuel Heisey, Howard Wagner, Mark Hess, and Abner Risser. The co operative reported a $150 000 decline in farm supply purchases, the first year without an increase. A stock dividend of $25 28803 was shared among 5500 members. Afternoon speaker was Kenneth Hood of the American Farm Bureau Federation.
