Celery Growers Back H-46 For Trenching Against Blight
In Lancaster County farmers meeting at Amos Funk’s Millersville farm, about a dozen celery growers endorsed the H-46 strain for trenching after the Houser variety was lost in World War II. County Youth Delegates Named to National Youthpower Congress
Lancaster County youths selected to join Pennsylvania at the National Youthpower Congress in Chicago. Darvin Boyd of Ephrata and Kenneth Brubaker of Mount Joy were chosen as delegates after interviews. Saralee Bradley of Holtwood and Paul Wolgemuth of Elizabethtown named as alternates. Eleven county youths participated in the Pennsylvania Youthpower Congress at Camp Hill, with six others set to join the national trip.
