Program of Work At Solanco FFA Includes Social Events
The Solanco FFA chapter reports a busy year with a turkey shoot a dance a roller skating party and the sponsorship of an FFA calendar. The seed service program is underway and plans include selling Spanish onion seedlings in spring. Two members earned the Keystone Farmer Degree and seven earned the Red Rose Degree.

Corn Project Completed By Cocalico FFA
The Cocalico chapter FFA finished a four acre corn growing project led by Jerry Snader, showing the economy of following soil test fertilizer recommendations and weed control with atrazine. Two Penna hybrids, 820 and 840, were planted with 820 performing best, while exhibits won first place and two seconds.

New Holland FFA Forms Boys Chorus at Garden Spot High
Following the Grassland Chapter interest, Miss Alice Jane Smith the music instructor led the FFA Chorus composed of New Holland members. Their first public appearance came at the annual FFA Parent Son banquet last year and this year they added new members. Wilmer Martin sang a solo at the Christmas program. The chorus plans a brief number for the April 7 FFA Parent Son Banquet. The effort shows cooperation between Vocational Agriculture and other high school departments.

Manheim FFA Boys Win State Yorkshire Boar Sale
Manheim FFA members purchased the champion boar at the State Yorkshire show and sale held at Kutztown. The six month old swine, bred by Parke Thomas, Beavertown, will join Harold Hess of Manheim Central High School to support the Supervised Farming Program. A litter mate topped the Ohio invitational carcass barrow and shares breeding with the national gilt champion from Iowa.
