Parke H Ranck and 22 Holsteins posted the top December butterfat average with 61 pounds from 1497 pounds of milk at 4.1 percent. George M Weaver led another herd with 1440 pounds of milk at 3.9 percent fat among 22 mixed cows. Robert Kauffman’s 23 Holsteins produced 1319 pounds milk with unspecified fat.

Abe Bucher Named to State FHA Advisory Committee
Abram G. Bucher of Lancaster has been appointed to Pennsylvania’s Farmers Home Administration state advisory committee. He succeeds James A. Beaver, whose term expired in 1960. Bucher, former Lancaster County National Bank manager of Farmer Relations, will help tailor FHA policies to PA farmers. He manages nine farms totaling 1000 acres and offers appraising and consulting services. He belongs to regional farm management and rural appraisal groups.
